EU Action Plan “Towards a Zero Pollution Ambition for air, water and soil – building a Healthier Planet for Healthier People”

“I have received notification, through the EU Transparency Register, of an Action Plan towards a zero pollution ambition for air, water and soil – see below and attached.  The subject matter is clearly of interest to golf, e.g. machinery emissions, pesticides, fertilisers, waste water, etc.

This is part of the European Green Deal, the main aims of which are:

• no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050
• economic growth decoupled from resource use
• no person and no place is left behind

There is an open consultation for the next 4 weeks (1-29 October) related to the Action Plan, but this is simply a single open text box.

Under the Action Plan the legislation process will be commence in the second quarter 2021.  This is when we will learn more detail and the potential impact on golf.  We will monitor its progress through the various stages and advise on further consultations.”
